Turkey Tuesday
"Heather and Dave Nivus of The Good Food Store in Bethel prepare Thanksgiving dinner plates for themselves and daughters Jocelyn, 3, and Corinne, 5, at the annual Turkey Tuesday dinner in Greenwood. The couple have been hosting the community dinner for 20 years as a benefit for the Bethel District Exchange, a local food pantry for familes in need. With help from volunteers, the Nivuses prepare and donate 12 turkeys, 100 pounds of potatoes, 44 loaves of stuffing bread, 10 gallons of gravy and two gallons of cranberry sauce. Each year a truckload of canned food and up to $1,000 in donations is raised by the hundreds of diners, all of whom also bring a side dish or dessert to share"

About The Good Food Store and Catering Company
The Good Food Store is a specialty grocery store located in Bethel, Maine since 1994. The owners, David Nivus and Heather Hale-Nivus, have been involved in the restaurant and catering business for many years. They take pride in meeting your event needs with great food and service.
Our Store:
Located on Route 2 between Bethel & Sunday River Road , in a renovated farm, the Good Food store specializes in gourmet and organic foods, Maine-made products, small brewery and imported beers, the best wine selection in Bethel, local products, and gifts. Our soup, salad & sandwich menu is available with daily specials, along with ready-to-eat and heat-and-eat foods for convenience. Special orders are welcome, and we can accomodate special diets on request.
Our Catering Services:
From homey fare to an exquisite dinner party, our kitchen is prepared to create any dish or cuisine, including your favorite recipes. Whether your event is a casual get together, a corporate affair, or an elegant wedding, our service staff is professional and friendly. Don't need a server? Stop by and pick it up or we'll bring it to your door. It doesn't matter if you've invited a few people or several hundred, our goal is to take the stress and hassle out of entertaining. Enjoy your guests!
Turkey Tuesday:
The Good Food Store sponsors "Turkey Tuesday" every November, to raise money and food donations for the Bethel Food Pantry. The store provides the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy & cranberry sauce, and everyone else brings a pot luck dish to share.
